Perth accommodation

General info

Perth has everything you’d want all in one user friendly city. The city’s a fine example of civil design at its best – a nice compact CBD in the middle with a super smart road network that lets you get from one end of the city to the other within about 15 minutes.
A beautiful long stretch of sandy white beach runs the length of the city, linking some of Perth’s trendier suburbs along the way.

Things you must see & do

If you’re a sun seeker head out to Scarborough beach. If you’re into history you might want to catch a ferry to Rottnest Island which has an interesting back story as a prison.

Freemantle’s super close and is worth visiting if you’re into super yachts and lattes. Wine buffs should check out the vineyards in the Margaret River region – it’s only a few hours away and is world famous for its produce.

If you’ve had too much sun you might want to stay indoors and try your luck at Burswood Casino.

Insider tips

Perth’s great but if you’re keen to see some of Australia’s most untouched beaches it’s worth renting a car and heading a couple of hours south to the Yullingup area. There are so many idyllic beaches here you’ll easily find a spot to yourself. Stay there until the evening and you might experience one of the most impressive sunsets you’ll ever see.

Take the free CAT buses when you can, they run every 10-15 minutes and head around the main attractions.

Make sure you try out chilli mussels and the crayfish; both local delicacies and served at many restaurants.
